The Best Nonprofit Board Development and Training Consultant
High-performing nonprofit organizations continually assess their infrastructure and implement best practices.
To facilitate this effort, The Goldenburg Group performs organizational "tuneups" that start with a thorough assessment. We make specific recommendations when presenting the assessment report and work with your organization to implement a realistic plan that maximizes your organization's impact.
We offer tuneups in three key areas:
nonprofit board development, training, and consulting
Supercharge a Board
Boards with sporadic member participation, low meeting attendance, ineffective committees, poor fundraising results, or confusion about board/staff roles benefit from this tuneup.
The Goldenburg Group uses a proprietary process for increasing board effectiveness. This process begins with interviewing board members and key staff and reviewing board minutes to assess the effectiveness of the board as a whole and of individual board members.
The board assessment results in specific recommendations regarding board policies, a development plan for the entire board, and an individual development plan for each board member.
We present the results of the assessment to all board members at an off-site board retreat. This retreat includes work groups that discuss and develop action plans based on the assessment recommendations.
Following the the retreat, we provide remote coaching and assistance to senior leadership and committee chairs for a 12-month period. This helps sustain the board's commitment to becoming more effective.
The ultimate goal of this assessment is to increase the board's understanding of its duties, as well as increase its ability to fulfill those important duties.
Non-Profit Organizational Evaluation
Even the most effective organizations benefit from periodically reviewing and aligning with best practices.
The Goldenburg Group begins this process with a comprehensive organizational assessment. This assessment reviews and compares an organization's practices and policies with 107 best practices for successful nonprofits. The assessment will review:
Following the assessment, we will work closely with an organization's senior leadership to prioritize, develop, and draft new policies and practices. Ultimately, the organization will become more accountable, more competitive for funding, and better able to manage its finances, programs, and human resources.
The Goldenburg Group offers a comprehensive organizational assessment as part of any interim executive or strategic planning engagement, but we also offer it as a stand-alone service.
Fundraising Evaluation, Planning, and Consulting
If fundraising results have grown stagnant, a fundraising assessment is the perfect catalyst to stimulate growth.
Through this assessment, we identify specific opportunities to improve fundraising results by:
Once complete, we develop specific recommendations to increase the dollars raised and work closely with fundraising staff and committees to develop implementation plans and fundraising campaigns.
Since the ultimate goal is to increase the organization's fundraising capacity, The Goldenburg Group does not lead or participate in your fundraising efforts. Instead, we engage with paid and volunteer fundraisers in a training, coaching, and mentoring capacity.
When The Goldenburg Group's engagement ends, the organization will benefit from a more effective fundraising department with the ability to raise more funds without outside consultants.
